An Update from Mr Curtis (7.3.25)

Another amazing week at Hawthorns!
This week has been Literacy week featuring World Book Day.
This featured our WBD cat walk of characters (Including Mrs Sarno - aka Burglar Bill) with her presentation for being at Hawthorns for 40 years!
Buds class have made a fruit caterpillar in speaking and listening from 'The very hungry caterpillar' story.
Rose class have been doing phone phonics, group work, squiggle, been to the mugger and enjoyed the catwalk for World Book Day.
In P.E. this week, we have used a storybook theme as part of Hawthorns Literacy week including Mr Men colour match and matching characters to their correct stories.
Hawthorns – CHAMPIONS!!!
On Thursday, seven children from Sycamore class represented Hawthorns and Tameside at Panathlon's Greater Manchester multi skills finals.  Team Hawthorns came in 1st place and will now go to the Regional finals. Well done to all.
Willow class had a very special visitor this week, Ian the fireman. He came to talk to us about safe and unsafe items and how to keep safe around fire.
The kids loved Mrs Shaw dressing up too!
We've also got some pictures from Blackpool Zoo from Chestnut, Maple and Sycamore's visit for World Wildlife Day!
